\u201cAnd some fell among thorns<\/strong>; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Luke 8:7<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd that which fell among thorns<\/strong> are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 8:14<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

 <\/em>The third type of heart the Lord shows are those who go forth after hearing the Word, may even continue in the Word for a short time. Yet by and by choosing the temporal vanities of this world and care, no longer desire eternal things or love of the Saviour. (\u201cLove not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh<\/strong>, and the lust of the eyes<\/strong>, and the pride of life,<\/strong> is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.\u201d I John 2:15-17)<\/em> Lust of the flesh often seen in youth and earlier years of life. Lust of the eyes often seen in careers and money, gathering for self all that can be gotten in this world to store up. Pride of life seen in later years of life. Declaring, see what I have achieved and obtained for myself. (\u201cAnd I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?\u201d Luke 12:19-20)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It is said the thorns choke the Word. Men wrestle, scape, and fight in this world to obtain the better standing and position. The eternal Word becomes as water flowing off a duck\u2019s back, for they have become so hardened from the deceit and vanity of riches and pleasures of sin. Allowing the seemingly must do duties and cares of this life to overthrow them. Aye, thus the Word becomes of no effect upon them. So terribly sad and damnable. Bringing no fruit to perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 We as becometh saints must not allow ourselves to be or slowly become overly concerned for the things of this world. God has promised to provide and care for us, believe Him for it is true. (\u201cBut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.\u201d Matt. 6:33) (\u201cAnd take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.\u201d Luke 21:34) (Luke 12:15; Phil. 4:19)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/em>We must take faith and learn to wait patiently upon our mighty God: Abundant, Benevolent, Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ who careth and provideth for us, His own. (\u201cThe Lord is my shepherd<\/strong>; I shall not want.\u201d Ps. 23:1)<\/em> (\u201cBehold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.\u201d Ps. 123:2)<\/em> Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
