“But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”
II Thess. 3:13
It cannot be done. If we try in our own way, will, or strength. Seek the Lord first, find His will and mind in all that we do. (“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Prov. 3:5-6)
The answer is in His Word. Helping those in true need, eschewing evil and sin, visiting the sick, attending church, tithing, praying always with supplications and thanksgiving, Bible reading and study, singing hymns, remembering the poor, teaching, unfeigned love of the brethren, witnessing of Christ, and more. All of these and more are instructed to us in God’s word and are to be maintained in our lives by the will, faith, and strength of the Lord. (“In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.” Zeph. 3:16) (“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” Titus 3:8)
