“Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.”
Jerimah 19:15
OH My!! What a terrible condition the children of Israel had become. They would not listen or heed the Holy Word of God. They had become stubborn, obstinate, refusing to yield to the good will of the LORD.
Thus, God’s righteous judgment would fall upon them. Sadly, to say, our land has become full of the same evil. Very few hold dear the Word of the Lord today. (“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1) This verse speaks of Christ Jesus Himself, who is the Word. (“Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.” Ps. 119:35) David took joy, pleasure, gladness, and fulfillment from the Word of God.We ought to be memorizing God’s word. (“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Ps. 119:9-11) (Rom. 10:17, I John 2:14, I Peter 2:2, I Peter 1:23, acts 20:32, Rev. 1:3) Can this be said of thee, my friend?
Today, in our land: children are taught unbiblical ideology, vileness of the other lifestyles to run rampart, wrong doers let loose, flattery and lies among the people, so-called churches of unpure places and of false doctrine, innocent children murdered in the womb, heathen allowed to overrun the land, etc. etc. Yet, too much Bible, to many Bible verses. (“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” Jer. 5:31) (“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14) Get back to loving and obeying God’s Word (KJVB)(Feb. 15, Devotional Study). David said, (“Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” Ps. 119:140)
