“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.”
Psalm 27:4
David had a heart that yearned and sought for the house of God. Many today seek their own and if they do enter the doors of the house of God, it’s to look for gain for self. David went to the house of God: (“…to behold the beauty of the LORD,”) to stand in awe of Him, to worship in the beauty of holiness, to praise and bless the LORD in the congregation of the righteous. Leading him to enquire (pray) of the LORD. Seeking Him who made Orion, the seven stars, the heavens and all the host of them. Calling upon the Lord who made the heavens and the earth and placed man upon it, whom He had made. (“Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord. The Lord that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.” Ps. 134) (“And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Matt. 21:13)
Today so-called houses of God are not houses of prayer; rather, places of evil. Teaching the traditions of men (such as Easter, Christmas, Work Salvation, etc.) as doctrine of God. Teaching a work salvation (must do this or that to please God). Teaching false doctrine as: O.T saints were saved by bringing sacrifices (Hyper-Dispensationalism), there is no hell (Jehovah Witness), Christ only a good teacher, (Wicked!) deriding the deity of our precious Lord Jesus Christ, water baptism for salvation (Church of Christ, Catholic), angel and saint worship, on and on it goes. The natural lost man likes these churches for it appeals to his wicked flesh and pride. Damning souls to hell. (“I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.” Ps. 26:5) What a scourge upon our land.
Let us seek the right house of God “…to behold the beauty of the LORD,”) to glorify Him; (“to enquire in his temple.”) To seek and obey His will for us. (“I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.” Ps. 35:18)
