“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”
I Corinthians 2:2
Oh, the foolishness of the wisdom of men. So many speeches, so many lectures, so many philosophies, so many books, and of man’s wisdom. To what avail shall they profit? (“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36) Man with his finite mind, lifted up in his own vanity of mind; foolishness in the eyes of God. (“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” I Cor. 1:27)
Let us not waste away our time and lives with such temporal and insignificant subjects of vanity of this world. Remember (Col. 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”) (See: I John 2:15-17) This world will be dissolved with all its vanities and works. (See: II Peter 3:11)
The Lord Jesus Christ ought to be our mindset and heart strings. (Main verse above:) (“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” I Cor. 2:2) To tell others of His marvelous grace, His wonderful love, and power to save: through Him, crucified for us. (“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” I Cor. 1:18) Yes indeed, Amen!
