“And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”

 Luke 8:15

The fourth type of heart we ought to beg the Lord give us. For these are they the Lord shows which spring up, hearing and obeying the Word heed it, keep it, and continue in them for the rest of their lives. Bringing forth with patience (endurance, longsuffering, waiting, faithfulness) in honesty (truth) and good heart (will) an hundredfold (many) of eternal fruit. (“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Gal. 6:9) (Also: Ps. 126:6)

 Maintaining with perseverance in the good work the Lord would have us do. (“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” Titus 3:8) This work, this writer believes, would be in a local body of believers (church). Either maintaining it or starting it. For this is taught throughout the scriptures.

 Continuance in the Word and work (witness, church attendance, tithes, offerings, alms, care and unfeigned love of the brethren (physical and spiritual), etc. to the glory and praise of the Lamb of God and Lord Jesus Christ our mighty God and Saviour. (“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25)

 Preserving with endurance of hardness which we must procure, possess, and manifest in and throughout our lives in the work of the Lord. For the battles shall never ebb of which we daily face. Taking faith and courage in our Mighty God we must allow with that godly patience, possess our souls to bring forth that fruit that doeth not wither and is forever everlasting to the glory and praise of Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. (“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” II Tim. 3-4) (Lord, forgive us, strengthen and help us, we pray.
